Double Bible Whammy Wednesday!

A little while back I got into a bit of a “discussion” here with a guy named Justin who runs a wretched little website (okay, it’s classier than mine) called “  He apparently also has a ministry.

In a moment of passion, I believe I promised the poor boy a biblical contradiction a day.

Since I haven’t done it yet, and I try to keep my promises, here goes.

PSA 145:9 The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

JER 13:14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.

1KI 4:26 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

2CH 9:25 And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

A special thanks to for providing me with all that quality Biblical research.

  1. As far as the stalls, a writer dropping a 0 is not a contradiction in the original text. Recent scholarship has helped us on this issue. See

Even if you believed that the Christian claim of Biblical infallibility meant our particular translation was perfect, there are still ways of defending that position (which I don’t hold to). See
